Welcome to the Home Page of the
Communication Networks Laboratory

This is home of faculty, visitors and students who are participating in various communication networking activities in the Department of Computer Science at San Diego State University. The activities cover teaching, presentations, workshops, research and practical laboratory work. The web site also contains information about the laboratory resources, and links and documents related to the networking technology. This web site supports three courses offered at CS Department:

      • CS576 - Networks and Distributed Systems
      • CS676 - Advanced Networks and Distributed Systems
      • CS678 - Broadband Communication Networks

The Laboratory was established in 1998 under the name of "ATM Laboratory", based on the joint funding by NSF (grant DUE-9851109) and by the College of Sciences. Originally the laboratory supported teaching and research in the area of ATM networking. The laboratory has expanded in the summer of 2003 to other forms of networking, including the TCP/IP protocol suite and wireless communication technology.
